How do I migrate my settings from the Windows version to the macOS version?

Transferring settings from Windows to macOS is possible, but it needs to be done carefully. The thing is, although the settings files are the same on both platforms, not all functionality is implemented on macOS. This can result in unpredictable behavior, so before transferring settings, please:
