In LiMonity, you can choose a User Agent for your monitoring tasks. This is an important setting because the User Agent helps your system interact with websites in a way that looks like normal user traffic, which can reduce the chances of getting blocked by the site.
Here are the available User Agents:
- Custom — you can give it a custom name for easy reference, and enter any User Agent string you’d like to use
- Chrome (Desktop)
- Chrome (Mobile)
- Firefox (Desktop)
- Firefox (Mobile)
- Opera (Desktop)
- Opera (Mobile)
- Safari (Desktop)
- Safari (Mobile)
- Googlebot (Desktop)
- Googlebot (Smartphone)
- Bingbot
- DuckDuckGo
How to Choose the Right User Agent
- If you’re monitoring a standard website that doesn’t have complex anti-bot measures, using a default desktop option like Google Chrome (Desktop) or Firefox (Desktop) is a safe choice.
- For mobile site monitoring, use one of the mobile options, like Chrome (Mobile), Opera (Mobile) or Safari (Mobile).
- If you encounter blocks or restrictions, try switching to a different User Agent or adjust a Custom one, as some websites treat traffic from certain browsers differently.
