What SEO parameters does Netpeak Spider check?

Using Netpeak Spider you can check the following SEO parameters:

Parameters

Description

General

#

URL sequence number in the results table.

URL

URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the unified address of documents in the World Wide Web. In this column maximum severity of SEO issues found on a page is highlighted with appropriate color. Note that you always see decoded URLs in the program interface.

Status Code

Part of the first line of HTTP headers: contains status code number and description. If necessary, special status codes are added to this field after '&' symbol showing indexation instructions (disallowed, canonicalized, refresh redirected and noindex / nofollow).

Content-Type

Value for this field is taken from content of the 'Content-Type' field in HTTP response headers or<meta http-equiv="content-type" />tag in<head>section. Tells to user what the content type of the returned content actually is. For example, text/html, image/png, application/pdf, etc.

Issues

Number of all issues (errors, warnings and notices) found on the page.

Response Time

Time (in milliseconds) taken to receive the first byte from a website server (thus called Time To First Byte, TTFB).

Click Depth

Number of clicks from initial URL to the current one. '0' value is initial URL's depth; '1' stands for pages received after following links from initial URL for the first time, etc.

URL Depth

Number of segments in inspected page's URL. Unlike 'Click Depth' parameter, URL Depth is a static one not depending on initial URL. For instance, URL depth for https://example.com/category/ page is 1, for https://example.com/category/product/ page is 2 and so forth.

Last-Modified

Content of the 'Last-Modified' field in HTTP response headers: indicates file's last modification date and time.

Crawling and Indexing

Compliance

Indicates whether a target URL is available for indexing by search engines. Compliant URLs are HTML files with a 2xx status code, not disallowed in crawling and indexation instructions (robots.txt, canonical, Meta Robots, etc.).Note that the parameter is defined according to user agent set in program settings.

Allowed in Robots.txt

Accessibility of URL by robots.txt file if it exists. TRUE means that URL is allowed to be indexed. False – disallowed in robots.txt file.

Directive in Robots.txt

An instruction in the robots.txt file set to the URL and aimed at the used user agent (which can be changed on the corresponding tab of crawling settings). It also contains the line number where the directive is found.

Meta Robots

Content of the <meta name="robots" />, or <meta name="[bot name]"/> tags in the <head> section of a document where the [bot name] is a name of a certain search robot.

Canonical URL

Content of the canonical instruction in <link rel="canonical" /> tag in the <head> section of the document or HTTP response header 'Link: rel="canonical"'.

Redirects

Number of redirects from the current URL: can be useful to determine chains of redirects.

Target redirect URL

Target URL of single redirect or redirect chain if it exists.

X-Robots-Tag

Content of the 'X-Robots-Tag' field in HTTP response header. It contains indexing instructions and is equivalent to the Meta Robots tag in the <head> section of a document.

Refresh

Content of the refresh directive in HTTP response header or<meta http-equiv="refresh"> tag in the <head> section of the document.

Canonicals

Number of URLs in a canonical chain starting from the current page. Value '1' means that the page points to a canonical URL that does not continue the chain. Check is automatically performed when crawling is paused and after it has been successfully completed. Check can be canceled and then started via the 'Analysis' menu → 'Check canonical chains'.

Links

Internal PageRank

Relative weight of the page determined by the PageRank algorithm. Considers all main crawling and indexing instructions, link attributes and link juice distribution. This parameter is calculated automatically when the crawling is paused and after it has been successfully completed. Calculation can be canceled and then switched on via 'Analysis' menu → 'Calculate internal PageRank'.To see extended features and apply advanced settings for this parameter, go to 'Tools' → 'Internal PageRank calculation'.

Incoming Links

All links to current page from the crawled URLs. Calculation is automatically performed when the crawling is paused and after it has been successfully completed. Check can be canceled and then switched on via 'Analysis' menu → 'Count incoming links'.

Outgoing Links

All links from the current URL.

Internal Links

Links from current URL to other URLs of crawled website.

External Links

Links from current URL to other websites.

Content

Title

Content of the <title> tag in <head> section of the document. It is a name of webpage and one of the most important tags in SEO. The first non-empty tag is considered.

Title Length

Number of characters (including spaces) in the <title> tag on the target URL. The first non-empty tag is considered.

Description

Content of the <meta name="description" /> tag in <head> section of the document. Usually displayed in SERP for a relevant query to current page, thus affecting CTR. The first non-empty tag is considered.

Description Length

Number of characters (including spaces) in the <meta name="description" /> tag on the target URL. The first non-empty tag is considered.

Images

Number of images found in <img> tags on a page. Along with the number of images, we gather alt attributes and the initial URL source view.

Content-Length

Content of the 'Content-Length' field in HTTP response headers. Indicates the size of a document in bytes. If the 'Content-Length' field is empty, this parameter in Netpeak Spider will show the actual size of the downloaded document.

Content-Encoding

Content of the 'Content-Encoding' field in HTTP response headers. Indicates encodings applied to document.

Structured Data: Markup Types

Number of structured data types on the page.

Contains Lorem Ipsum

Indicates whether a text of the target URL contains 'Lorem Ipsum' phrase that is commonly used as a template to fill the page layout.

Contains Flash

Indicates whether the HTML code of the target URL contains the Flash technology elements.

Iframe Count

Number of <iframe> tags in a <body> section of the target page. The first non-empty tag is considered.

H1 Content

Content of the first non-empty <h1> tag on the target URL. The first non-empty tag is considered.

H1 Length

Number of characters (including spaces) in the <h1> tag on a page. The first non-empty tag is considered.

H1 Headings

Number of <h1> headers on the target URL. The first non-empty tag is considered.

H2 Headings

Number of <h2> headers on the target URL.

H3 Headings

Number of <h3> headers on the target URL.

H4 Headings

Number of <h4> headers on the target URL.

H5 Headings

Number of <h5> headers on the target URL.

H6 Headings

Number of <h6> headers on the target URL.

HTML Size

Number of characters in <html> section of the target page including HTML tags.

Content Size

Number of characters (including spaces) in <body> section of a document excluding HTML tags. To put it simply, the size of text on the page including spaces.

Text/HTML Ratio

Ratio of the text content (the 'Content Size' parameter) to the entire content on a page (the 'HTML Size' parameter).

Characters

Number of characters (excluding spaces) in the <body> section of a page excluding HTML tags. To put it simply, it's a size of text on the page excluding spaces.

Words

Number of words in the <body> section of the document.

Characters in <p>

Number of characters (excluding spaces) in <p></p> tags in the <body> section of the target page.

Words in <p>

Number of words in <p></p> tags in the <body> section of the target page.

Page Hash

Unique key for the content of the entire page: allows you to find duplicates according to this parameter.

Text Hash

Unique key for text content in the <body> section: allows you to find duplicates according to this parameter.

Head Tags

Base Tag

Content of the <base> tag in <head> section of the document.

Hreflang Language Code

Language code of the current page from the hreflang attribute in the <link rel="alternate" /> tag of the <head> section or HTTP response header 'Link: rel="alternate"'.

Hreflang Links

The number of alternate language URLs in the hreflang attribute in the <link rel="alternate" /> tag of the <head> section or HTTP response header 'Link: rel="alternate"'.

AMP HTML

Indicates whether the target document is an AMP HTML page. It is determined by presence of the<html ⚡>or<html amp>tags in<head>section of the document.

Link to AMP HTML

Content of the<link rel="amphtml" />tag in<head>section of the document.

Google Analytics

Description

Sessions

Users

Total number of website users according to Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment).
Note that this parameter is defined according to the 'Landing page'. Which means it shows the number of unique users for which the target page was the first visited page.

Sessions 

Total number of sessions according to Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment). A session is the time period when a user is actively engaged with your website.
Note that this parameter is defined according to the 'Landing page'. Which means it shows the number of sessions for which the target page was the first visited page.

Bounce Rate

Bounce rate of a URL according to Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment). Counted as the ratio of [number of sessions, during which only one page view took place] to [number of all sessions].

Avg. Session Duration

Average session duration (in seconds) according to Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, data range, and segment). Counted by dividing the whole session duration of all users by the number of sessions.

Note that this parameter is defined according to the 'Landing page'. Which means it shows the average session duration of the users for whom the target page was the first visited page.

All Goals

Includes parameters from Google Analytics that are set for all goals created under a view. The parameters show the efficiency of specific landing pages in terms of goal completions on a website.

Goal Completions

Total number of completions for all goals according to Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment).
Note that this parameter is defined according to the 'Landing page'. Which means it shows the number of goal completions for sessions that had the target page as the first visited page.

Goal Conversion Rate

The percentage of visits that resulted in a conversion to any of the goals according to Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment).

Specific Goals

Includes parameters from Google Analytics that are set for all goals created under a view. The parameters show the efficiency of certain landing pages in terms of specific goal completions on a website.

Ecommerce

Includes parameters of the 'Ecommerce' group from Google Analytics. Ecommerce reports include data on purchases made on your site. 

Transactions

Total number of completed purchases on a website according to the 'Ecommerce' module in Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment).
Note that this parameter is defined according to the 'Landing page'. Which means it shows the total number of completed purchases for sessions which had the target page as the first visited page.

Transaction Revenue

Total revenue of a website accordingTotal revenue of a website according to the 'Ecommerce' module in Google Analytics (considering the chosen view, date range, and segment).
Note that this parameter is defined according to the 'Landing page'. Which means it shows the total revenue of sessions for which the target page was the first visited page.

Google Search Console

Includes parameters from Google Search Console. Search Console tools and reports allow getting the average website position in SERP and the number of clicks to it from Google, fixing issues, and getting high rankings in search results.

Note that data received via API may differ from the data in the web interface due to the Search Console API peculiarities.

Clicks

Number of clicks to a URL for the specified period according to Google Search Console. Click is any click-through to the page from Google search, excluding paid result click-throughs.

Impressions

Number of impressions of a URL for the specified period according to Google Search Console. Page impression is registered when a URL appears in Google search results for any search query, excluding impressions of paid results. The URL might be either located in the visible area or beyond it.

CTR

CTR (Clickthrough rate) of a URL for the specified period according to Google Search Console. Counted by the formula [(number of clicks / number of impressions) * 100].

Average position

Average position of a URL for the specified period according to Google Search Console. The position is averaged for all searches the URL is shown for in Google search results.

Queries
Number of search queries URL ranks for at Google for the specified period according to Google Search Console (considering the chosen website, date range, and filters).

Note that the use of the data enrichment function (in the export of queries settings) may increase the parameter value.
